"The Joker is Wild/Batman is Riled" January 26/27, 1966 The Joker "springs" himself from jail in time to exact revenge on the curators of a museum exhibit on comedy legends. He's upset that he wasn't included in the exhibit. But Batman's on the scene to stop him with the aid of his trusty utility belt. The Joker swears never to fall for the gimmicks of the belt by fighting fire with fire and creating his own. The belt proves to be a match for the Dynamic Duo as the city of Gotham begins to lose faith in them as they fall for the pranks from the Joker's utility belt. Thanks so much, Roo. Sorry about the late reply. I'm not getting notifications of comments so I need to be more diligent of the boards. I have heard others say this isn't the strongest of the first season entries, but I still get a thrill watching Batman explain to Joker how he deduced the scheme as they are fighting. It's very Marvelesque!

Just finished listening to the episode, and what a joy it was too. Some great comments and observations about this episode. I don't quite agree that this is the best Batman story but it's certainly up there in my own top five. The early episodes managed to tread the fine line between humour and drama so well. I think that Nancy Kovack is absolutely delicious as The Joker's moll, Queenie - but, yes, she could have been better served by the script. Looking forward to your next episode :-) Best Bat-wishes from England (should I say Londinium?)
